About Ted Winder Photography
How did you get into photography?
That's a question I'm asked a lot, and one I can never properly answer. I guess it started as a child, with a small compact camera. I've always loved capturing different views on the world – I think that's what photography is all about – and I find always having a camera with me means I can just shoot at anything I feel like. Even if the results sometimes seem uninspiring or boring, taking pictures of everything all the time means there is more chance of capturing that one special moment when it does come along. I'm still waiting for that.
What camera do you use?
At the moment, I am using (and loving) the Nikon D90. I use three lenses, the Nikon 18-105mm, 50mm f/1.8, and Sigma 10-20mm.
What is your favourite subject to shoot?
I seem to mostly take nature shots and landscapes. I suspect that's because it's the most accessible subject to shoot – it's everywhere. Whether it's just outside your front door or on holiday abroad, there will always be flowers or trees or hills to photograph. However, I do like to try new things and experiment with different techniques whenever I can, especially portraits and sports. So I suppose I don't have a favourite subject; I don't want to stick to one thing for too long.
Do you digitally edit your photographs?
I will always import any photograph that catches my eye into Photoshop CS5 to see if there's anything I can do to make it better. Usually, this is just slight colour modifications, or a little bit of touching up with portraits.
Can I buy prints of your work?
If you're interested in purchasing a professionally printed edition of any of my photos, you can just email me (see below) and I'll do my best to sort something out. I'm still working on a way to sell to the masses!
What do you do when you're not taking pictures?
I'm just your ordinary teenager! I'm usually either doing homework, reading, or listening to music. Sometimes all at the same time...Where else can I find you on the internet?
I am a regular user of Flickr and Twitter, and also have a page for my photography on Facebook. If you use any of them, perhaps you'd like to add me as a contact or become a fan.How can I get in touch with you?
